Welcome! I'm Kira.

• Teacher and Forever Student: I love learning new skills and tidbits of information. I truly believe people would benefit if we all saw the value of being a "forever student" of life. I've been teaching high school English and History for 8 years now. It's the most rewarding calling I've received in life, and it's never boring, that's for sure.

• Proud Asian-American: I'm half Chinese and half Japanese. I'm considered to be a third-generation American since my grandparents were the ones who immigrated to California. I love everything about my heritage and I'm proud to celebrate all aspects of it.

• Ex-People Pleaser: I've lived my entire life trying to make others happy, especially before myself. It took me 24 years to realize that being a professional people pleaser only holds my own life back.​ This blog is to share what has healed my soul.

• Introverted Extrovert: I've been in a long process of rebuilding myself and discovering new (and old) joys. I'm not the most outgoing, but I do love a combination of going out and staying in with my man (E) and my girl (Mochi, my Shiba Inu).
